SOCL:-Microsoft’s Secret Social Network Revealed

After Facebook and Google+, its Microsoft that is experimenting with its own social network named Socl.
The Verge was able to get a preview of Microsoft’s upcoming social network. In an already very crowded social network market where Facebook and Twitter dominate, even Google is finding it extremely difficult to boost its Social Network. Microsoft with its new project will have to come up with something unique to make it a success.
Just looking at the images, the interface doesn’t look much different from Facebook and Google+. There are 3 vertical columns on the body of the page and a search bar on top. In the middle of the page contains your feed and navigation options are on the left. On the right there is an invites and “Video Party” section, which is similar to what Google+ has in its Hangouts, the same feature of having your friends watch the same YouTube clip from their own devices while chatting.
Socl.com currently displays an official statement from Microsoft saying: “Thanks for stopping by. Socl.com is an internal design project from a team in Microsoft Research which was mistakenly published to the web. We didn’t mean to, honest.”
Microsoft is late in the game but who knows how much of an impact Socl could make.
